Japona Hookah - Brand Review
Japona Hookahs - perhaps you have heard of the brand and wondered, "What are they all about?" Today at Icon Hookah, we're going to discuss the ins and outs of the Japona hookah line-up. Japona is a Russian hookah manufacturer that has been around since 2015 and mainly focuses on modern hookahs made of stainless steel and wood. They have a very unique style, consistently delivering an ornate and decorative look like no other. These designs manage to be both contemporary and intricate. These pipes are beautiful to show off to your friends and family, and they smoke as well as they look.

Japona Hookah Shuriken And Japona Hookah Amur

Each Japona hookah comes with everything you need to begin smoking. You will receive the stem, tray, base, hose, and a bowl with your order. With four different models to choose from, there is something that will appeal to everyone. In this line, there are two medium-sized hookahs and two tall hookahs. Each model can be customized with several wood and base options. Now that you know a little bit about the brand, let's move onto the breakdown of what you can expect in each Japona hookah.

Stem

The down stem of every Japona pipe boasts high quality stainless steel construction. Stainless steel is a great choice for hookah pipes because it's extremely easy to clean and doesn't rust, which means it will last a long time. The wood on this pipe is real, unlike many other "wood" hookah pipes. Japona uses thermally modified hardwood. The benefit of using this type of wood is it doesn't absorb water or expand/contract like other wood types. These features make for durable and long-lasting pipes.

Tray

The trays feature a continued wood design, which isn't something you'll see elsewhere in the market. On top of the tray is a stainless steel plate with numerous large ventilation holes. Not only does it look good, but it has great functionality as well. The stainless steel plate holes keep your coals properly heated and ventilated when they're left on the tray, so they don't blackout.

Hose Port

The hose port is recessed, meaning that the hose fitting actually goes inside of the pipe. While this is more of an aesthetic decision, we have to say it is quite effective and attractive!  The draw on these pipes is open enough for a nonrestrictive draw but not so wide to the point of flavor loss. The purge port has thick threadings and is easy to take on and off. You won't have any issues with this purge; it is smooth and effortless. On the heart of the hookah, you'll find gold plated Japona logo. As for the diffuser, some models have a screwable diffuser, and some have one that is built-in. Either diffuser assists with keeping the hookah quiet. Also, they aid in keeping the draw smooth.Japona Hookah Hose Port

Base/Vase

The hookah comes with a simple medium-sized glass base. Japona decided to add a metal portion to the base to help it look even more uniform and flush with the rest of the pipe. The glass is extremely thick and heavy. A heavy-duty base helps keep your mind at ease. You won't have to worry about breaking this base during normal use from placing it on a hard surface.

Hose Handle or Mouthpiece

The hose handle, like the stem, is made of stainless steel with a wood cover. It features a design that is comfortable in the hand while looking elegant. The hose is made of soft touch silicone, which is known for being durable and washable. A spring is included to make sure your hose doesn't bend or pull on your hookah.
