As you can tell I have quite a few sets over the years. These plus the 1 set of black tongs from the “AoLaCo brand”, are my newest buys.I just personally needed some longer & better tongs. I have found them. Just in the back set not in these!!!These Icon brand 1’s are SOOOO NOT IT!!!They truly are horrid. They r just too darn sharp and they have cut my hands more times than I can even remember all over my hands too… They are not finished around the rims of the handles what-so-ever.I guess if I had some tools or was more handy I could sand these baddies down myself then they’d be great but still; I think they’d be a bit too big just for me personally when I use Bakhoor burners w charcoal or when I need incense tongs… but that’s just my own personal preference.I also have huge muscular hands (w arthritis lol!) so you’d think I’d want them bigger….But I have found that the 6.3 inch black ones from the “AoLaCo” brand are the utterly perfect size and tongs for me and work great for any/all of the things I’ve mentioned…These Icon ones tho sharp, do still close and open pretty good (like not too tough), and the tips are very very good at holding your hot item -no matter how slippery or fragile.That’s the only 2 pluses in my opinion.The major cons are that they are just soooo not finished properly- as in too darn sharp and quite a bit too big for my purposes.Truthfully tho if these were sanded down I could really see these being used on food and being just absolutely great for that as they r sooo sharp at the tips.So hope this helps someone!
